THIRD ANNUAL “100.7 THE BAY CLASSIC ROCK ART SHOW” AT THE TOWN MALL OF WESTMINSTER
 

100.7 The Bay is about to rock the art world with the third annual  “100.7 The Bay Classic Rock Art Show”, Friday, December 12th through Sunday, December 14th, 2008 at the Town Mall of Westminster (in front of Belk), 400 North Center Drive, Westminster, MD. The “100.7 The Bay Classic Rock Art Show” is a rare collection of original art, lithographs, photographs, handwritten song lyrics, concert posters, gold records, album art, animation drawings and more from the greatest rock artists of all time.  The show is free and open to the public on Friday, December 12th and Saturday, December 13th from 10:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m. and Sunday, December 14th from 12:00 noon - 5:00 p.m.  All works are available to purchase.

The “100.7 The Bay Classic Rock Art Show” will showcase an amazing collection of works from classic artists such as Paul McCartney,  Jerry Garcia, John Entwistle (The Who), Jimi Hendrix, Ron Wood (Rolling Stones), Bob Dylan, Carlos Santana, David Bowie, Robby Krieger (The Doors), Tony Bennett, Jon Anderson (Yes), John Lennon, Ringo Starr, U2, John Mellencamp, Brian Wilson, Micky Dolenz and dozens more plus rock photographs from sessions including The Eagles, Pink Floyd, The Doors, The Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, Doors, Bruce Springsteen and more. The “100.7 The Bay Classic Rock Art Show” will also feature signed handwritten song lyrics, album cover artwork, gold records, concert tour posters and more.

Ron Campbell, director of the legendary Saturday morning Beatles Cartoon series that aired on ABC from September 25, 1965 through April 20, 1969 and animator on the Beatles film Yellow Submarine will make a rare personal appearance at the “100.7 The Bay Classic Rock Art Show”  throughout the entire weekend.  In his book, Up Periscope, Yellow Submarine Producer Al Brodax gives Ron Campbell a great deal of credit for saving the movie Yellow Submarine and tying it all together at the last minute.  Ron will have many of his original Beatles paintings on sale created specially for this show as well as give attendees a live demonstration of his painting.

In addition to his Beatles past, Ron has been involved with some of the most beloved cartoons including, Scooby Doo, Krazy Kat, George of the Jungle, The Jetsons, The Flintstones, the Smurfs, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Goof Troop, The Big Blue Marble, Rugrats, Ed, Edd & Eddy and dozens more. 

The “100.7 The Bay Classic Rock Art Show” will also feature a special appearance by nationally known Rock concert poster designer Scotty C.  Scotty C will personalize his unique posters for Rock Art Show guests throughout the weekend.  Scotty C was born in Stuttgart, Germany and grew up in Bowie, MD.  His designs include posters featuring Led Zeppelin, David Bowie, Black Sabbath, Bruce Springsteen, Eric Clapton, Kiss, Pearl Jam, Doors and more.  Scotty C´s artwork can also be seen on a variety of apparel, CD covers, books, calendars, and fashion accessories in retail markets throughout the world.
